Nail Files Linkup - Julep Maven Jessica

Saturday, March 30, 2013

I have done this combination before, but I just love it! The last time I had a camera that took lousy pictures and this one was particularly bad. I didn't have fingernails grown out so long either. I think it turned out really good this time. What do you think?

I used:
OPI Natural Nail Base Coat
Julep Maven Jessica
Essie Pure Pearlfection
Dazzle Dry Top Coat

Sation Miss Antoinette - A Review

Friday, March 29, 2013

I wanted to try a different polish so I ordered Sation. They have two new collections for spring. This one is called Miss Antoinette.

The colors are (from left to right): Guillotine Grape, Of Corset I'll Call You, Delete Your Junk Male, Love is in the Heir, Dating the Duke, and Love at First Byte.

Guillotine Grape:  This is a deep black-purple with a soft shimmer. It went on fairly light the first coat but the second coat covered completely. I liked the color a lot.

Of Corset I'll Call You: This is a pretty pink creme polish. You have to be a fan of pink polish to appreciate this one because there is nothing special about it. It covers in two coats and I like the consistency. But it is just another pink polish.

Delete Your Junk Male: This is a red polish with a soft shimmer. I feel the same way about the red polish as the pink. It is pretty...but you've seen one...well you know what I mean. I think they are good for this collection and I like their formulas though.

Love is in the Heir: This is a baby blue polish with a soft shimmer to it. This is the only one from this collection that took three coats and it's because I didn't like it sheer, which I think it was meant to be.

Dating the Duke: This is a bright kelly green, creme polish. I think it is a awful color of green and I wouldn't wear it. But that is just my opinion. The Sation website didn't show it accurately at all. I thought I was getting a completely different color than I did. Sation polish is good though. I didn't have trouble with the formula of any of them.

Love at First Byte: Finally, this is a sheer, creme, peach polish. If you are looking for a sheer polish I think this one is lovely.

Sation is free of DBP, toluene and formaldehyde.

Hard Candy Sprinkles - A Review

Monday, March 25, 2013

I was in Walmart getting the new Flower brand polishes for the girl that has a birthday this month in my birthday group and I saw these Hard Candy Sprinkles polishes and had to get them! They make your nails look like little Easter eggs! I only got three of the nine of them, but I hope they will give you a taste of the rest.

The three I got are (left to right): Jelly Bean Blue, Cotton Candy Pink, and Gummy Green.

Jelly Bean Blue: This is my favorite polish of the three. It is filled with navy and silver glitter and looks like little black dots when your wearing it. The first coat was a little thin and I was afraid it would take three coats for opacity, but it only took two. It is a blue glitter polish.

Cotton Candy Pink: This pink glitter polish has black and silver glitter in it. The black glitter looks almost purple under the pink base! It was thin on the first coat too, but I wasn't too worried it would cover after my experience with the blue version.

Gummy Green: This final glitter polish is filled with black and silver glitters. It was also thin and I had to go back over it a third time to make sure the bald spots were covered. I like it though. I think it's a fun polish to wear.
