Preview of the Week to Come - 1/25

Tuesday, January 27, 2015

I have decided to not do my link-ups for a while. I can't get any participation no matter how hard I try and they may be good later. Participation in the Blogger Bragger Winter Nail Art Challenge is low too. If you would like to join us for this challenge just visit us at https://www.facebook.com/groups/bloggerbragger/ and ask to join the group.

Anyway...the nails I have planned for this week are spectacular. Let me tell you about them....

This week I am planning for the week of January 25th - January 31th...
  • Sunday: Preview/Roundup/Newsletter - I didn't remember to submit anything to the Beauty Blogazon Roundup.
  • Monday: Swatches and Review Mainstream - I was planning to swatch and review Zoya's Wishes polishes but they broke in transit and the replacements haven't come yet.
  • Tuesday: Tuesday Nail Art - Tuesday I am doing Red Berries nails for "Nail Art Tuesday".
  • Wednesday: Pink Wednesday - For "Pink Wednesday" the polish I've selected is Sinful Colors Pink Glitter.
  • Thursday: Throwback Thursday - On Thursday I am doing a design with several elements.
  • Friday: Swatches and Review Indie - I don't have an indie polish for Friday so I'll probably just do some nail art.
  • Saturday: Blogger Bragger - The "Blogger Bragger Winter Nail Art Challenge" started a few weeks ago. I invite you all to join in the fun. This week's theme is Groundhogs Day. This is my nail challenge and anyone is welcome to join. Just visit us at https://www.facebook.com/groups/bloggerbragger/ and ask to join the group. You are also welcome to join us if don't want to participate. You don't even need to be a blogger!

This is the plan for this week. I look forward to your comments! Please let me know what you think and what you'd like to see more of.

Blogger Bragger Winter Nail Art Challenge - Patchwork Quilt

Sunday, January 25, 2015

purchased by me
This is only the 4th week of the "Blogger Bragger Winter Nail Art Challenge". There are 9 more weeks in this challenge. I want to invite you all to participate in it. If you would like to join us for this challenge just visit us at https://www.facebook.com/groups/bloggerbragger/ and ask to join the group. The group isn't just for those in the challenge. If your just looking for a place to post your blog work, you can do that too.

This week's challenge is a Patchwork Quilt. I did this three times. I was impatient and didn't let the coats dry long enough before taping. But I finally got it to work out! This is harder to do than in looks. Now that I am done and it has been a while I think it would have been neat to decorate the separate areas. At the time I was just  glad to be done!

Jeweled Blue Flower

purchased by me
Since I don't have an Indie Polish to share with you today I have done some nail art. It is not very seasonal, but I get hungry for warmer days during the long month of January.

I used a jewel that I got from Born Pretty and I painted a flower on the side of my ring finger.

How To Get Soft Hands During The Winter

Part of having nice nails is having beautiful hands. If your hands look dry then your manicure won’t look that great either. If your hands look hydrated and nourished then your nails will look so much better. Since the winter is here it’s getting that much harder to keep your hands from drying out. Here are a few tips on how to keep your hands looking and feeling their best.

Pink Wednesday - Zoya Charlotte

Wednesday, January 21, 2015

purchased by me
Zoya Charlotte is a peachy-pink sheer polish. I put three coats on to make it less sheer. Zoya sent me this polish as a gift because I buy so much polish from them. I don't think it's one I would have picked out but it is certainly pretty and I'm glad I have it.

Martin Luther King Day - 2015

purchased by me
"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." ~Martin Luther King, Jr.

My MLK Day design is a bit late. I did it Monday but didn't write it up and post it. I didn't photograph it till today and it held up well, don't you think? My design was in honor of the quote/speech he is so famous for. This is the first time I have ever tried letters and for a first try I guess they aren't too bad. Unfortunately they are upside down!

Preview of the Week to Come - 1/18

Sunday, January 18, 2015

I love polish. I love the creativity it affords me and the challenge to get better at my art. I get so excited when new collections come out. There is a part of me that just craves the colors and textures and I want to be good enough to combine them in new ways and create new designs. I guess you have to be a fellow polish lover to appreciate what I am saying. Do you?

Anyway...the nails I have planned for this week are sensational. Let me tell you about them....

This week I am planning for the week of January 18th - January 24th...
  • Sunday: Preview/Roundup/Newsletter - I didn't remember to submit anything to the Beauty Blogazon Roundup because I was at my mom. I've been planning an issue of the Newsletter for days and it just keeps getting put off. I'll get to it soon. In the next day or two.
  • Monday: Swatches and Review Mainstream - I was planning to swatch and review Zoya's Wishes polishes but they broke in transit. I'll get a new set but until then I'll do a Martin Luther King Jr. design for tomorrow.
  • Tuesday: Tuesday Nail Art - Tuesday I am doing Polar Bear nails for "Nail Art Tuesday". I am also hosting the a new link-up that day, "Share Your Visionary Spark". It is for any blogger and you can link up to (3) three posts. The instructions will be on my blog early Tuesday morning at  http://stunningnails.blogspot.com/2015/01/share-your-visionary-spark-2.html.
  • Wednesday: Pink Wednesday - For "Pink Wednesday" the polish I've selected is Zoya Charlotte.
  • Thursday: Throwback Thursday - On Thursday we have a guest poster, Aleya Bamdad.
This week's theme is Patchwork Quilts. This is my nail challenge and anyone is welcome to join. Just visit us at https://www.facebook.com/groups/bloggerbragger/ and ask to join the group. You are also welcome to join us if don't want to participate. You don't even need to be a blogger! I am also starting a new link-up that cross-posts to Pinterest called the "Prevailing Pinterest Party". It should be fun. The instructions will be on my blog early Saturday morning at http://stunningnails.blogspot.com/2015/01/prevailing-pinterest-party-3.html.

Blogger Bragger Winter Nail Art Challenge - Icicles

purchased by me
This is only the 3rd week of the "Blogger Bragger Winter Nail Art Challenge". There are 10 more weeks in this challenge. I want to invite you all to participate in it. If you would like to join us for this challenge just visit us at https://www.facebook.com/groups/bloggerbragger/ and ask to join the group. The group isn't just for those in the challenge. If your just looking for a place to post your blog work, you can do that too.

This week's challenge is Icicles and my inspiration is a design that the Nailasaurus does on her blog frequently in different colors. I have tried it before and failed miserably because my lines weren't very straight. This time I used a different brush and slowed down considerably and I think it's better. What do you think?

Throwback Thursday - Ciate' Velvet Manicure Kit

purchased by me
I did my nails for "Throwback Thursday" on Thursday but I haven't had time to write it up and post it.

When I was ordering from Sephora I threw in a Ciate' Velvet Manicure Kit so that I would have enough to get free shipping. I did that for you today. I wished I had a lipstick to go with it like was shown on the box when I was done. It is very classy looking and a very sophisticated color. The name of the polish is Ciate' Cabaret and flocking powder is the same color.

Pink Wednesday - Hard Candy Cherry Pop

Thursday, January 15, 2015

purchased by me
I am showing Hard Candy Cherry Pop for today's "Pink Wednesday". This is another polish that grabbed my eye when I was looking at polish in Walmart the other day. It has red, pink and white glitter in it and, come to think of it, it would be great for Valentine's Day! I put it over white polish.

I have several Hard Candy's on sale on e-Bay for $2.39 (shipping combined if you buy more than one).

Nail Art Tuesday - Winter Tree

purchased by me
I did another winter tree for Nail Art Tuesday and I'm glad I did. It gave me a chance to make up for the ones that I did last weekend. (I wasn't really happy with those.) This one is better though. I knew I could do trees! I just wasn't in a tree making mood the other day I guess!

The Body Shop Selected Polish - A Review

Wednesday, January 14, 2015

purchased by me
It is my privilege to introduce another new polish to you. I have seen several advertisements for The Body Shop lately and they sell more than just nail polish, but I thought I'd try out their polish and see what it's like.

I bought four colors: Got The Blues, Hemp Over Heals, A Grape Affair and Peach Babe. They were all cremes. The selection is limited to start with. I don't know if they plan to expand as they grow. They all covered in two coats.

Got The Blues: This is a blue on the purple side, almost periwinkle. It is dries to a shiny creme finish and looks good with a high shine top coat on it. I love this color and will likely use it a lot in nail art.

Nyall - A Review

Friday, January 9, 2015

purchased by me
I have a fun product for you today. Nayll is an online shop where you can mix your own indie polish and name it. I made three for you (but one came up missing before this review). You can make shimmers and glitters. Both of the polishes I have for you today are glitter.

The first is a silver topper with several sizes of silver glitter, including some holographic in a clear base. It is called A Girl's Best Friend. I put it over a soft blue-gray color from Julep called Shelly.
