Blogger Bragger Spring Nail Art Challenge - Glitter & Texture

Thursday, May 28, 2015

purchased by me
I've had a hard time keeping up with the challenge this spring. Today I have the posts for the last couple of weeks, glitter and texture. There is only one more week, this week. I will post the challenge, holographic polish, later this week.

Beginning June1st we are having a new challenge, the Summer Blogger Bragger Nail Art Challenge. It should be really fun the categories are broad and spark the imagination. I hope you will join us for some or all of this challenge. If you would like to join us for this challenge just visit us at and ask to join the group. The group isn't just for those in the challenge. If your just looking for a place to post your blog work, you can do that too. Here is the button for this challenge...

Nail Art - Raindrops

purchased by me
I have seen this design several places on Pinterest, so I don't want to be accused of steeling an idea. Although I wish I had thought of it. I thought it was so neat looking that I HAD to try it. In person it looks so incredible. My boyfriend was blown away and kept wanting to touch my nails.

I used Sinful Colors Sail La Vie topped with OPI Matte Top Coat. Then I put on drops of Gelish Top It Off and cured it for twice as long as usual since it was thick.

Pink Wednesday - Morgan Taylor Ella of a Girl

purchased by me
I keep thinking that I'll run out of ideas for pink nails, but so far I haven't! I have a good stash of untried pink polish and I'll keep doing "Pink Wednesday" as long as it keeps getting good stats.

Today's pink polish is from the Morgan Taylor Cinderella collection that came out this spring. The topper I used came from the OPI Wizard of Oz collection that came out a couple of years ago. I painted the daisies with acrylic paint. This is a simple design but I like it a lot.

Nail Art - Mix It Up!

Friday, May 15, 2015

purchased by me
I have wanted to do a nail art like this for some time, with each nail different. The pointer finger has my first attempt at doing chevron freehand. I think for a first time it came out pretty well. The middle finger has a gradient on it from lavender, to purple, to a bright pink. This is just something I've learned and I love the effect. I'm definitely going do more of this. On the ring finger I did water-marbling. This is also something I've only done a few times and I could use more practice. I have a hard time with it drying on the water too soon. On my pinky I just painted some purple stripes on a bright pink background. Here is the result...

Pink Wednesday - OPI Princesses Rule

Thursday, May 14, 2015

purchased by me
For this design I was inspired by a design I saw on Pinerest. It was teal and copper, but I thought I try it with pink. After all, they often call copper "pink gold". I put the copper polish on with the saran wrap method. However, I used a piece of plastic grocery bag because I read that it works better...and it did!

OPI Infinite Shine 2 Selected Polish - A Review

purchased by me
OPI Infinite Shine 2 was released a couple of months ago. But I thought I'd show you a few of the new line anyway. This polish last longer, has a gel-like shine but removes like polish. I found the colors I got to be superb. I like this line very much!

I got four polishes an orange (Endurance Race To The Finish), a bright pink (From Here To Eternity), a blurple, not quite blue, not quite purple, (Indignant Indigo) and a lime green (To The Finish Lime!).

Blogger Bragger Spring Nail Art Challenge - Weeks 3, 4 & 5

Saturday, May 9, 2015

purchased by me
This is the 5th week of the "Blogger Bragger Spring Nail Art Challenge". There are 3 more weeks in this challenge. I want to invite you all to participate in it. If you would like to join us for this challenge just visit us at and ask to join the group. The group isn't just for those in the challenge. If your just looking for a place to post your blog work, you can do that too.

This challenge is easy. It is about types of polish, but the polishes can be designed in any way you'd like. Add to them to them to your hearts content.

We are having a really fun challenge for summer that starts the first week of June. You are also invited to join us for that. The challenges are here:

Nail Art - Black Rhinestones

Friday, May 8, 2015

purchased by me
I am visiting my mom and I had planned another design for you today but I got here without all the stuff I needed to do it. So I quickly put together these rhinestone studded nails as a substitute. I did something like this at Halloween (which I will link at the end of this post). My favorite is the middle finger which outlines the nail in rhinestones. This look is really hot!

Pink Wednesday - Zoya Caprice

Wednesday, May 6, 2015

purchased by me
Zoya Caprice is a dark pink. It almost looks red in this nail art. But in the bottle I was sure it was a dark pink. On the accent nail I paired it with an evergreen to simulate grass and it almost makes this design look Christmas-y. Ultimately, I wanted to try incorporating these little studs, which I have had for a while but never used.

Jessica Phēnom - A Review

Tuesday, May 5, 2015

purchased by me
I have another new polish for you today. It is by Jessica, which has been around for a long time but they have a new shiner, long lasting polish called Phēnom. It has a gel-like finish, but removes like polish. It competes with products like OPI's Infinite Shine.

I got the starter kit, plus a couple of extra which just meant that the top coat was included. Three polishes were included in the starter kit and I purchased two more. I got an orange (Luv You Lucy), a pink (Barbie Pink), a purple (Grape Gatsby), a wine red (Parisian Passion) and a blue (Fountain Bleu).

May Giveaway

purchased by me
This month I am giving away March's My MONTHLY Stunning Nails box because it is so pretty! It is called "Tiffany Box" and uses Lillian by Zoya to get the beautiful color. The contents of the box are at the end of this post.

Preview of the Week to Come - 5/4

I am changing up my blog just a little. I feel like I am cramming a lot of stuff into my week and it is taking away from the joy I used to find in this. I am worried about reviewing polishes and getting away from nail art, which is the reason I got into polish in the first place!

I am going to start making my own polish too, which will take some of  my time. I realize that indie polish making is competitive, but it is something I'd like to do.

The following will be my schedule starting this month:
  • Monday: Swatches and Review Mainstream or Indie
  • Wednesday: Pink Wednesday
  • Friday: Nail Art and Blogger Bragger
  • Saturday: The Beauty Blogazon Roundup
This week you can expect:
  • Monday: Swatches and Review Mainstream or Indie - I am planning to swatch and review a selection of Jessica's new Phenom polish.
  • Wednesday: Pink Wednesday - For "Pink Wednesday" the polish I've selected is Zoya Caprice.
  • Friday: Nail Art - The nail art I have chosen to do for you is spotted in matte. Blogger Bragger - The "Blogger Bragger Spring Nail Art Challenge" started a few weeks ago. I invite you all to join in the fun. This week's theme is "Satin". This is my nail challenge and anyone is welcome to join. Just visit us at and ask to join the group. You are also welcome to join us if don't want to participate. You don't even need to be a beauty blogger!
  • Saturday: The Beauty Blogazon Roundup

This is the plan for this week. I look forward to your comments! Please let me know what you think and what you'd like to see more of.
