Tuesday, December 29, 2015

purchased by me
This is the 1st week of the "Beauty Blogger Bragger - Winter Nail Art Challenge". There are 13 weeks in this challenge. I want to invite you all to participate in it. If you would like to join us for this challenge just visit us at https://www.facebook.com/groups/bloggerbragger/ and ask to join the group. The group isn't just for those in the challenge. If your just looking for a place to post your blog work, you can do that too.

This week's theme is a Snowman. It seems I do one every winter and they get better every year. I am happy with how this year's turned out. I used polish from the SpaRitual Awakening Collection, acrylic paint and snowflake stickers.

Nail Art - Christmas Lights

Monday, December 28, 2015

purchased by me
I forgot when I was doing my planning for this past week that it was Christmas and it was a busy week for me...I'm sure everybody was busy this past week. Needless to say I didn't get all of my posts done but I did polish my nails.

This is the design I created for Christmas Eve. It is a little grown out, as you can see, because I just took the pictures tonight. But it held up well, don't you think? What did you wear on your nails for Christmas? (Post pictures in the comments.)

New Year's Resolutions - 2016

Yesterday I reviewed 2015; the highlights, disappointments, focuses, things I forgot and reflections. I wanted to select the best goals for 2016. I am using the same categories as last year. I found them in a Pinterest post (see last year's post for link). The categories I used are spiritual, personal, relationship, financial, health/fitness, home and business. I added family this year.

Spiritual:
  1. Find the best in others.
  2. Hug the ones I love.

2015 Reflections

Sunday, December 27, 2015

Last year I did two posts about this time of year, a reflection post on the past year and a new years resolution post. Although I didn't meet all of goals it helped me to make them and think about what I need in my life. All I can do is work harder and smarter this year.

This post will be a reflection on 2015 and I will use the same tools I used last year. For the reflection I used this guide I found on another blog. (The link is in last year's post.)

SpaRitual Awakening Holiday Collection - A Review

Monday, December 21, 2015

purchased by me
It's been awhile since I have bought new polish. This collection was a good place to start. I love the colors! They are ones I would have picked out anyway.

There are six colors in this collection. In The Wild, Bright Future, In Service, Take Action, Visionary and Creative Activist.

This is my first full week back since my break and I hope to get everything done. I have plans to start YouTube soon but need to buy some video editing software and I don't have the money this week. I will start soon though. Til then I'll keep blogging. Everything is ready to go as soon as I get the software.

  • Monday: Swatches and Review Mainstream - I am planning to swatch and review SpaRitual Awakening Holiday Collection today.
  • Tuesday: Tuesday Nail Art - Tuesday I am doing A String of Holiday Lights on my nails for "Tuesday Nail Art".
  • Wednesday: Pink Wednesday - For "Pink Wednesday" the polish I've selected is China Glaze Spring in My Step.
  • Thursday: Plan With Me - On Thursday there is a new segment called "Plan With Me". I will show you the start of my Creative Blog Planners.
  • Friday: Swatches and Review Indie OR Guest Blogger- I don't have an indie polish or a guest blogger for Friday.
  • Saturday: Beauty Blogger Bragger - The "Beauty Blogger Bragger Winter Nail Art Challenge" starts in January and I invite you all to join in the fun. This is my nail challenge and anyone is welcome to join. Just visit us at https://www.facebook.com/groups/bloggerbragger/ and ask to join the group. Nail Art - Holly

Saturday, December 19, 2015

purchased by me
I get most of my inspiration from Pinterest. This is a direct copy of @nails_in_style. I love this design so much that I just had to see if I could do it as well as she did. I think it turned out pretty good. What are your thoughts?

I used China Glaze White on White, acrylic paint and red rhinestones to get this look.

Pink Wednesday - Pure Ice Spit Fire

Wednesday, December 16, 2015

purchased by me
I'm just feeling like I'm getting back into the swing of thing and my mom is having surgery so I'm going to stay with her next week. I'm doing this post early because she doesn't have Internet/Wi-Fi and then scheduling it.

I pick up pink polish all the time because I love it and for this segment on my blog. I saw this in Walmart a few months back and had to have it because it was so sparkly. The rhinestones are darker than the polish so they kind of wash it out. I put it over a very dark grey from OPI's 50 Shades of Grey collection.

Nail Art - Christmas Ornament

Sunday, December 13, 2015

purchased by me
I saw this design is different colors on Pinterest and just fell in love with it! It was lighter ornaments on a dark background but I still haven't used last Christmas's purple from Zoya's collection so I thought I would. I think the colors turned out great!

I have never "painted" with nail polish before. I usually use acrylic paint so this was new to me. But I wanted the shimmer of Zoya Haven.

Contact/About Page Updated

I updated my "Contact/About" page and thought I'd share it with you....

I have had a story on here from Etsy. Two things are wrong with that. I gave up my Etsy store some time ago and it was done at my home in Boise which I haven't lived in for awhile. So here is a new story about me and my polish room here in Logan, Utah.

I do nails and write my blog in a spare bedroom of our apartment I call my polish room or office. Although I think it is rather organized right now, some people wouldn't. I always have polish, brushes, files, etc. on every surface. But I usually know where everything is and can lay my hands on what I need.

My boyfriend got me this beautiful oak roll top desk for Christmas last year and I have loved it! I have all my goals taped to the back and a project on one of the slide outs and my Blog Planner and iPad on the other.

Pink Wednesday - Zoya Athena

Wednesday, December 9, 2015

purchased by me
I'm so excited about these nails. I have never been able to make a regular nail stamp work. The other day I got a MoYou stamp that I had ordered in the mail and used it for the first time today. I got it to work! I definitely need more practice but I have light silver swirls on my nails! I am so excited because this opens up a whole new world for me. You can expect to see a lot more stamping on my blog.

Today's pink polish is Zoya Athena. It almost looks red in the pictures but it is a fuchsia with gold shimmer. I used Konad Special Nail Polish in Silver for the stamping. It is a simple design but I like it a lot!

Ruby White Tips - A Review

Tuesday, December 8, 2015

 press sample
Laura Toff of Ruby White Tips has a new group of polishes coming out for Christmas and has generously given me a few to swatch for you. They are beautiful and varied. I hope you like them!

All of these polishes are of a good consistency, not too thick or too thin. I was impressed with all of them. Laura has been making polish for awhile and it shows in her excellent product.

I am reviewing three polishes today: This is Not Black , Extraordinary, and For Them All!

This is Not Black: This is actually a very soft pink. It came off as white in the pictures. I couldn't get the light right. It covered in two coats, which I loved! Really light pinks are often also very sheer. This also is also a glitter and somewhat iridescent.
