Nail Art - Dots

I usually write my Nail Art posts on Tuesdays, but I was out of town. I tried to get it done before I left however, I've been having trouble with my camera. I'm trying to learn how to do some new things on it. I had to take the video for YouTube three times to get it the way I wanted it. I'm slowly getting better at taking video.

Today's design is done with a dotting tool. I designed a group of dots at the base of the middle finger. The other nails have a succession of pink dots down the middle. This is all done on the base of a light gray SpaRitual polish with acrylic paint. I have received many compliments on this design.

This is what it looks like:

Pink Wednesday - Jessica Smitten Kitten

I have my Pink Wednesday design for you today even though is Thursday. I was out of town Monday through Wednesday and I thought I would be able to do it Wednesday evening, but that didn't happen. I was just too tired.

It was a great break though. We went to Wendover Nevada, which is not too far from us. We get free rooms and buffets there quite often and that just leaves gas to pay for so it is a cheap getaway. (We don't gamble much.)

You may have noticed that I filed my nails shorter. They just seemed to be getting too long. I still have to take care of things around my house, and they were getting in the way. I think they look good shorter too. This is the length that I used to keep them. Do you like them longer or shorter?

I'm really excited about today's design. I used a Jessica polished for the background and painted rough edged flowers at the base of the nail. I'm happy with the way they turned out.

Coffee Break Question - 5/21

This has been an unbelievably stressful week. I'm glad it's almost over. Lucky for me everything that went wrong resolved itself in the end. However, it has been expensive.

Pink Wednesday - Jessica Soho in Love

I haven't done a Pink Wednesday for a while. I got it ready in advance, so I have it for you today.

I love the color, of course, it is a pale pink, almost nude. I love all pinks. But looking back on the pictures, I'm not so sure I like the embellishments. I love the iridescent ovals, but the pearls don't match. It would be cool if they were all iridescent.

Here is what I did for you:

Nail Art - Pink Flamingo

I usually put my nail art up on Tuesday but I had some personal things going on yesterday. I got them all taken care of, but I spent all of today uploading my video to YouTube. The learning curve is steeper than I expected. I'm used to catching on to things quickly, so this is very frustrating for me.

Today, YouTube was telling me that my music was copyrighted and it's NOT. I had to upload it several times to get it to work. It's done now, though. I'm so relieved.

Today I have for you a pink flamingo that I painted with acrylic paint on nail polish. This is my first attempt at creating a flamingo and I am very satisfied with it. I painted one on my ring finger and polished that the rest of my nails with a Butter London polish covered with glitter.

Here is the finished product:

Coffee Break Question - 5/16

How was your week? Mine has been filled with things to improve my blog. I joined Facebook pages that help me promote my blog. I also started linking my posts to blog hops/link parties and that has increased my traffic, as well.

Nail Art - Pink Flowers

Usually do my nail art on Tuesday, but have been learning the editing software for making videos so I can post on YouTube. I posted once before, but I only had the trial version of the software and it left a large watermark over the entire video. So it was kind of ruined. I'm still learning the software and the video isn't the best, but it will do for a first version. I have been urgently waiting to get this software. Since I'm living on a small income right now I haven't been able to afford it. I'm so excited that I have it now.

The nails I did for you today are a pink flower on the bed of green leaves. I created them with acrylic paint. The other nails are pink, green and silver polish. I found inspiration on Pinterest, but I didn't copy the design exactly. It just gave me a place to start.

This design required a lot of supplies. Seven polishes (including base and top coat), four acrylic paints and rhinestones.

Here is the design I created for you:

My Polish - My Stunning Nails Return

Friday, May 6, 2016

purchased by me
I am so excited to introduce you to my new polish, Return. It is an ocean blue polish with a scattered holographic effect. Lately, I have been in love with blue polishes of every shade and hue. It is lost between a bright blue and a turquoise. I have to wanted to experiment with holographic polish for some time and this was a good place to start.

I learn something new every time I make polish. This time I learned that I shouldn't order too much product without experimenting with it first. The holographic glitter that I bought was supposed to give a linear holographic effect. As you can see, it does not.

This is the first time I have made polish in a while. My spring collection is due to come out later this month, however. It is rather late for a spring collection, but the colors are so gorgeous that I didn't want to skip it altogether. I have just had a hard time getting the money together to buy the product for the entire collection. I am very excited for you to see it.

This polish has personal meaning in my life. My boyfriend is getting over back surgery and got addicted to painkillers. He is getting over it now, but it has been difficult. The ribbon for recovery is blue, so I made a blue polish reminiscent of that ribbon.

Well, without further ado, here is my polish, Return. I am very proud of it.
